Course Overview

The evolution of the phenomenon of active school-based shooters and its impact on modern policing, response tactics, logistical concerns, equipment needs, manpower issues, and lifesaving measures will be discussed in detail. 
This training course will immerse student law enforcement officers in effective methods for rapid response and successful neutralization of active assailants in a school environment. Students will be instructed and immersed in methods to safely and effectively isolate, contain, and stop the active loss of life. Students will also learn how to assess casualties, protect victims, and conduct ancillary operations. 

Students will participate in Simunition-based individual and multi-officer responses to active school threat scenarios to include providing immediate aid and extraction of civilians.

In effort to elaborate and adequately cover the learning objectives outlined in TCOLE course 2195, this training course will be presented over two-days (16 Training Hours).
